Five great Healthcare podcasts for doctors

You might think that podcasts are just the latest digital trend, but they’re a lot more than that. They’re growing in popularity because they offer a depth of insight that can’t be found anywhere else. The best healthcare podcasts provide new ideas from a wide range of sources, wrapped up in a portable, convenient package.
This was a pilot podcast in 2017 by the BMA, and now a permanent fixture. It offers insight into the range of doctors’ experiences. Episodes include ‘Head vs Heart’ on decision making and ‘Doing the right thing’ on the moralities of medicine.
Oncologist Dr Neil Lowe oversees a range of podcasts dedicated to evidence-based treatment of cancer. This professionally produced US series covers all of the oncology sub-specialties.
Former CCG Chief Executive Ben Gowland has hosted over 100 panel discussions on topics that affect GPs. From partnerships to premises, there’s something that will appeal to you.
This new podcast from the policy body is shaping up to be an essential listen. So far, The King’s Fund have focused on leadership & gender, NHS winter pressures and public satisfaction.
Anyone interested in the future of digital health in the UK will benefit from this array of podcasts. Many of them are (good quality) recordings from events such as the GIANT event and the theme is the key challenges innovators face.
